Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words, they become actions.
Watch your actions, they become habits.
Watch your habits, they become character;
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

I have always heard the old saying; "You can't stop the birds from flying around over your head but you can prevent them from nesting in your hair." The same goes for thoughts that do not belong in our heads. When they enter in, rebuke them and cast them out. DO NOT allow those thoughts to build a nest within our minds to hatch into words, actions, habits, and then characters that will lead us to a destiny that we never intended to end up at.
"and the peace of God, that is surpassing all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7 (Young's Literal Translations)
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8
"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful." Colossians 3:15
IF You will remember the 1st commandment and obey it to the fullest, then everything will be alright with your destiny.
"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with ALL thy heart, and with ALL thy soul, and with ALL thy mind, and with ALL thy strength: this is the first commandment." Mark 12:30

Excellent group of thoughts that appropriately remind us of how careful we must maintain our lives according to the Lord's will.

This is one very important area where every Christian needs to be watchful. I remember as a new convert having a terrible struggle with horrible thoughts that were coming to my mind. I didn't want to think them, but it seemed I just couldn't stop them from entering my head. Thank God that He gave me enough sense to call my pastor and ask for his help. A lot of the same things you shared here were things he shared with me, and it helped immensely. I'm glad Jesus gives us power through the Holy Ghost to cast down imaginations and evil thoughts and replace them with the good word of God! May the Lord help us to marinate our minds and souls in the truths of His Word!
